Introducing Mx. X - LayerX New NFT

Over the past few weeks we’ve been working on something very special. It all started from a simple question:

“How can we give back to those that are part of our journey?”

Web3 is so much more than a concept or an industry. It’s feeling like you’re part of something bigger. As they say, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”. And we want everyone to feel they’re part of LayerX.

After researching, debating, and fine-tuning our idea, we are finally ready to unveil the surprise!

Meet Mx. X!

Mx. X is an NFT designed to represent the power of LayerX and its community. We developed it to be more than just a digital asset - it's a way for us to show our appreciation and give back to the people who have supported us thus far.

What does Mx. X stand for?

Mx. is a gender-neutral honorific. We believe that everyone should have a chance to be represented and this honorific allows us to do just that.

The “X” is a nod to LayerX’s mission of enabling people to create limitless possibilities in the world of decentralized development and WorkFi. "X" could be anyone, anytime, anywhere.

"X" represents our brand, our vision, our values and our community. And we stand by it 🫶

How was the name chosen?

We wanted to ensure not just the Marketing and Design teams were involved in the process, so we extended an invitation to the entire team to submit their ideas for naming.

Following this, we reviewed the list and created a poll where all members of LayerX had the opportunity to vote for their preferred names. At last, we got to the final name and we loved it!

How can you get your Mx. X NFT?

Starting today, we will be rewarding the NFT to different stakeholders at LayerX. We are designing exclusive characters for builders, organizers, partners and our beloved community.

There will be many different ways and opportunities to get your hands on Mx. X, but here are a few actions you can take to increase your chances:

Participation in hackathons (as a builder, mentor, or judge);
Participation in bounties (as a developer or curator);
Participation in workshops and similar events;
Completing community activities such as zealy sprints;
Providing valuable feedback as a beta tester;
Being a valuable and cherished member of LayerX Community;
Meetup at events;
LayerX Partners;
And many more ways to come ;)

Design process

We were looking for an artwork that was both unique and meaningful, yet still enable us to create multiple designs and variants of the character.

We started by having discussions within our team, and then proceeded to make some sketches by hand.

We came up with ideas for the character, the surrounding elements, and the colors during our brainstorming sessions.

After creating the initial mockup, our Design team sorted everything out using Figma. The final outcome was amazing! Not only our base design was incredible, but it was also very versatile, with the possibility of customizing it in various ways with a click of a button.

Final Thoughts

Mx. X is more than just an NFT, it’s a symbol of LayerX and its community.

We want to thank everyone for their support over the past years and we hope that by introducing Mx. X we can show our appreciation in a unique way. This is only getting started 🚀
