In this interview, we'll get to know Vagelis behind the handle, learn about his experience into web3, and why he's so committed to the community, always going above and beyond to show his support!

Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got into web3?

My name is Vagelis, and I've spent about a decade working as a personal trainer. During the COVID pandemic, I was also studying physiotherapy. With the lockdowns giving me ample free time, I began exploring new areas of interest. I've always been curious and driven to find ways to evolve both professionally and financially, which initially led me to explore investments in the stock market.

However, I felt like something was missing. After extensive research, I stumbled upon cryptocurrencies just before 2021. I became deeply intrigued by the technology and began diving into various projects. I quickly realized that not only was there a huge financial opportunity, but I had discovered something with vast potential. From then on, Web3 and cryptocurrencies became integral parts of my life.

What aspect of web3 technology excites you the most?

Web3 is a groundbreaking innovation, revolutionizing how products and services are structured. What excites me most is the vision of a decentralized system where transparency and fairness are at the core. The ability for users to play a meaningful role in the development of projects, and even earn from them, is incredibly appealing. It’s this user-first approach that holds immense potential to reshape industries and give everyone a fair shot.

What led you to join the LayerX community?

After spending some time as a crypto investor, I discovered Bepro. At that time, it was a relatively small project with a passionate team and a clear vision to solve real-world problems. I saw the potential and became an early investor. 

Eventually, Bepro joined forces with TAIKAI, evolving into something bigger—LayerX. I had already been an active member of both the Bepro and TAIKAI communities, so when LayerX was created, it felt like a natural progression. The team's vision and ambitious goals resonated with me, giving the community even greater hope for the future.

Have you been involved in any LayerX hackathons or tasks? If so, can you tell us about your experience?

Although my professional background isn’t in technology, I was eager to participate in hackathons and tasks within Bepro and TAIKAI. I saw an open task on Bepro for creating an animated video, which I felt was an opportunity for me to contribute. Despite having no experience in video creation, I dedicated time to learning the necessary skills. After a few weeks of effort, I submitted my video. The process was smooth, fair, and transparent for all participants, and my video was accepted. It was a special moment for me, and I look forward to contributing even more in the future.

What’s one feature or improvement you’d like to see in the LayerX ecosystem?

I would love to see a stronger connection between Bepro and TAIKAI, especially when it comes to hackathons. Specifically, it would be fantastic if hackathon bounties were opened on the Bepro platform, allowing more people to see Bepro's innovative potential and its ability to transform the freelance industry.

How do you feel LayerX stands out from other web3 or blockchain communities you’ve been part of?

Many web3 communities tend to focus solely on token prices, often at the expense of understanding the underlying product. It's common for members to invest without even knowing what they're supporting, which I find concerning. LayerX, however, takes a different approach.

The team places a strong emphasis on educating the community about their products and keeping unnecessary hype to a minimum, focusing instead on hard work and real development. With its robust community of hackathon participants and the Bepro platform, LayerX stands out by fostering genuine engagement and dedication.

If you could start any project within LayerX, what would it be and why?

I’ve had an idea in mind for some time now—a project that blends fitness, exercise, and physiotherapy with web3 features. Given my background in these areas, it feels like a natural fit. If I could start any project, it would definitely be something centered around these fields. Who knows, maybe one day I'll bring it to life within the LayerX ecosystem.

What’s your personal philosophy on contributing to web3 builder communities like LayerX?

In my view, the community is the most crucial part of any Web3 product. A strong builder community that actively contributes and shapes the future of an ecosystem is key to long-term success. Web3 is synonymous with community, and fostering that collaborative environment is vital.

So, the legendary $3.67 BEPRO prediction—are we still holding out hope, or has the community shifted focus to something even wilder?

The $3.67 BEPRO prediction is bold, but as we all know, anything is possible in this space. Bepro is a product with the potential to reshape the freelance industry, and now it’s just a matter of the world catching up to that potential. When the time is right, the sky’s the limit for Bepro. So yes, $3.67—we’re still coming for you!

Where do you see the future of LayerX heading, and how do you think the community can shape that future?

The LayerX team is steadily building a strong foundation by attending major events, forging important partnerships, and making strategic connections for the future. I envision LayerX becoming a leading ecosystem, and based on what we’ve seen so far, we’re not far from that reality. I’m confident there are even bigger developments happening behind the scenes. The community will play a pivotal role in this journey. As I mentioned earlier, Web3 is synonymous with community, and a strong, engaged user base is essential for any Web3 product's success. The combination of a dedicated, passionate, and professional team alongside a vibrant community will be the key to LayerX making a lasting impact in this innovative space.
